How to Print Coloring Pages at Home: US Letter & A4
For our free coloring pack, use Fit to page, turn on Auto orientation, and print single-sided. The pack has one portrait page and three landscape pages, so these settings help keep each illustration inside your printer's printable area.
You can use US Letter or A4 paper. Start with one test page before printing the rest.
1. Save the PDF before you print
Visit our free printable coloring pages and open the four-page PDF. Save it to your device so you can open it again when you are ready to color. If your browser shows a PDF preview, use its download or save control.
The pack includes a Cozy Corners bedroom, a Lovely Squad spring picnic, an Everyday Joys scene at home, and an Art Joy pizza illustration. You can print all four or choose just the page you want.
2. Match the paper size to your printer tray
The PDF pages are sized for US Letter, 8.5 x 11 in. If that is the paper in your tray, choose Letter in the print dialog. For A4, 210 x 297 mm, choose A4 and Fit to page. The illustration will be scaled to fit the different sheet size.
Check your printer's supported paper types and weights before loading thicker paper. Use paper designed for your printer, and follow its loading instructions. A home-printed sample will look and feel different depending on the sheet you choose.
3. Check these settings in the print preview
- Pages: select one page for a test, or select all four.
- Scaling: choose Fit, Fit to page, or your app's equivalent. Avoid Fill, which may crop the edges.
- Orientation: choose Auto. If that option is unavailable, print the portrait page separately from the three landscape pages.
- Sides: choose one-sided printing.
- Color: black-and-white or grayscale is sufficient for these line drawings.
Look at the preview before pressing Print. You should see the full illustration border and the text below it. The illustration does not need to reach the edge of the paper.
4. Print one page and check it
Check that every edge of the design is visible and that the outlines are clear. If the border is missing, confirm the correct paper size and change the scaling to Fit to page. If the page is sideways, change the orientation for that page before printing again.
If the preview is correct but the printed outlines are faint or broken, check your printer's ink or toner status and its maintenance instructions. Try the normal document-quality setting instead of draft mode.
5. Try your coloring tools on a spare sheet
Use a spare sheet of the same paper to test a pencil, pen, or marker. Check both sides of the sheet and let the color dry before continuing. Place a protective sheet under your illustration when using markers, and protect your work surface.
A simple place to start is the Art Joy pizza page: choose a color for the crust, one for the cheese, and one for the toppings. For the spring picnic, try a small palette such as leafy green, soft pink, and warm yellow. These are starting ideas; use the colors you enjoy.
What a printable sample can help you choose
A sample lets you explore the characters, outlines, and amount of detail before selecting a full book. It also gives you a page to try at your own pace.
The physical Love Louder books use 160 gsm paper, single-sided illustrations, and perforated pages. Those features come with the printed book; downloading the PDF does not reproduce them on ordinary printer paper. Even in a single-sided book, use a protective sheet with markers and test your tools first.
